Dear Neighbour
I have received several complaints about noise from an event held at the Garden Centre on Friday and feel that I should write and apologise to those of you who may have been affected. This was the first time that we have held an event like this which was a brand launch for a pasta sauce by Heinz and we are learning from this experience. The event was professionally organised by a specialist event company with licence approval from Camden Council and provided some much needed additional income in these difficult retail trading times to help with our training scheme for disadvantaged people.
Looking back, the music was too loud even after it was toned down following our requests. Our large building probably acted like an amplifier which intensified the sound. In addition, the popularity of the event meant that the number of people coming along was greater than I anticipated – we of course capped the number of those actually entering from a safety point of view.
So I want to apologise to you, firstly for the music loudness and secondly for any noise disturbance from attendees leaving the event – even though we repeatedly asked them to respect you our neighbours. The last thing we want to do is upset you in any way as we hugely appreciate the support you give to us as your community charitable social enterprise.
Kindest regards and my apologies once again.
Peter
